Frequently Asked Questions

Who can visit and use the resources at Our House?

Our House is there to support families - parents and caregivers with pre-school and primary aged children. Having said this, we welcome grandparents, siblings and extended whanau also.

How much does it cost?

Our House resources are free of charge. Our events and classes are either free or organised on a Koha basis. The only aspect that may involve a small charge are meals which may be offered from time to time.

Is there child care available?

There is no official childcare available. It is our hope that, with time, Our House will build a community where we can all care for each other. In time, one or more people you know and trust may look after your children while you rest or do some work. You may then choose to offer the same to others.

We do, however, have a selection of educational toys to keep younger kids busy while you get to relax or do some work.

What Workspace facilities are there?

We offer free Wifi, comfortable chairs and desks and work-focused spaces. Whether you’re studying, doing paid work, catching up on emails or sorting out life administration tasks, our workspace is there for you to use.

When are you open?

Our House will be open from Monday-Friday from 10am-2.30pm. It will also be open at other times for special events (community catch ups, classes, workshops, speakers etc) which will be listed on our Events page.

I would like to volunteer at Our House - is this possible?

We welcome volunteers and those who wish to help us build a community based on respect, connection and support for each other.

Who is the Director and Manager of Our House?

Our House is a Not-For-Profit Organisation created by Charlotte Wilderland. Working and collaborating with a passionate Team, Charlotte hopes to create a unique community centre that can grow and evolve with the needs of the community.
